"The thing about onsight climbing is that it nourishes the soul. I mean whats the alternative? Top roping? Which leaves nothing in doubt. I think doubt is a really important thing in any excercise like that; where you're not too sure whether you're going to climb it or not; you're not too sure where to go. And climbing with Neil today on Margins is like introducing Neil to some very old friends...
The difference between top roping and onsight is like the difference between seeing the animals in the wild (which was today), ya know seeing Neil grapple with....the animals, not knowing where they are, where they're coming from, volatile, wild, in appose to animals actually in a Zoo which are very passive and lost thier spirit... in some way.
